Burleigh Heads Surf Life Saving Club was formally founded in 1923. Since then we have developed and grown as an integral Surf Life Saving Club on the Gold Coast, which now has in excess of 1000 members.
In this past 2014/2015 season it is estimated that nearly 154,000 people visited Burleigh Beach. Our volunteer patrolling members put in 6,616 hours of their own time to watch, protect and save these visitors which resulted in another fatality free season between the flags at Burleigh.
This past season saw our patrolling members successfully completed over 66 rescues, 2,333 preventative actions and treated members of the public in 608 first aid cases, 10 of these being major first aid.
